Hello All this is my opinion of the Kentucky Derby the horse I like in this race nobody will like but what I will tell you is I think this horse is sitting on a race ready to explode he's got a nice outside post where he does not have to go and push the pace going into the first turn if he's three or four wide on the outside sitting comfortably thats okay down the back stretch he will be making up some ground but on the far turn you should be seeing him passing horses left and right I think this horse is going to love Churchill Downs big turns he does not have what the so-called professionals would say figures but every year all the TV media and so-called professional handicappers all jump on the horse with the best figures and the best trainer and they just can't get past the figures I'm telling you this trainer knows how to get horses ready for big races his stats prove it. Ever since this trainer put the the blinkers on the horse he has become a monster he is a true Stone Cold sustained runner at the end of the Far turn coming into the stretch if he is within six and a half lengths of the leader he's going to be very tough .... The only reason that I'm going to bet $500 Win-Place $1000 Show because there is going to be so much money in the pools my money won't make a difference so who is the Horse

Thx for the write up and pick 5th street. Barber Road does look light on velocity figures but maybe he moves forward here. Good luck.

The Derby is not about figures or dosage index but it is all about who's not going to get compromised early and who is going to get the trip that fellas is the key to handicapping the Kentucky Derby

valid assertion but a front end trip is the easiest(especially in a 20 horse field) assuming the pony does not get cooked in a speed duel.

To be truthful with you Jack I am not a front end handicapper I also do not believe that a horse can go wire to wire in the Kentucky Derby with six to eight horses pushing him I just don't feel this group of 3-year-olds this year is that good there is nobody that's really a standout in my book

Jack you may disagree with me but to be a successful handicapper you have to look past the obvious if you can't do that then you're going to be part of the 95% that just keeps doing the same s*** over and over

Let's take the #1 Mo Donegel this is a very nice horse he ran a very big number last race major candidate for bounce theory also ran a very exceptional sheet figure problem with this horse is he's breaking on the inside he's going to have to use some major energy which is going to cost him at the end of the race me personally I think you're going to see three or four horses battling for the lead

I get your drift 5th street. But look at last year and Justify's win a couple of years ago. and Maximum Security as well. and Back in the day War Emblem's front end score. so it can be won on the lead or very close to it. Then again you have Street Sense and Mine that Bird and Giaccomo coming from the clouds to score in the Derby. so pick your running style. Considering that this year there seems to be a lot of speed signed up Maybe you are right. But some of that speed may not fire in this 20 horse kind of field. so that's what makes it fun and can be very lucrative if you find the winner or in exotics. Good luck.

I fully get and understand what you are saying Jack but you have to look back at those years and those group of horses totally different each year is totally different like you said that's why it's the greatest game in the world take this year you got speed cheap speed horses that just are going to run early and that to me causes problems the way I see the winner whoever it may be it's going to sit on the outside making up ground and going to have a nice little wide trip but it's going to have enough at the end or I could be totally wrong hahaha .. another thing is any program software you're going to run or use it's going to come up with horses that have the best figures plain and simple so with that all said and done I wish you the best of luck on Derby Day and everybody that has been reading this post even myself

OK 5th ST. again you may be right a lot of cheap speed in the race could cause a pace melt down for sure. I will give your pick of Barber Road a long look. thx.
